  • Customer Profile

    Globe Express Services was established in 1974 to provide professional international freight forwarding services to importers of retail and consumer goods in the United States. The company has established a strong branch network in mainland China and Southeast Asia and has grown to become a leading third party logistics service provider in the fast-growing trans-Pacific transport market. in March 2010, Globe Express Services merged with the Overseas Group to strengthen its presence in the European and Middle East markets. Established in 1977, the Overseas Group has a strong reputation in the export of goods, industrial and speciality products, and project logistics markets.

  • Informatics Challenges

    1.Numerous global subsidiaries, urgently need a set of internationalised ERP to cover global finance and group control:

    ① China: 14 city offices in mainland China and Hong Kong;

    ② Southeast Asia: Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, India, Bangladesh;

    ③Europe: France, Italy, Russia, Switzerland, Turkey;

    ④ Middle East: Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Lebanon;

    ⑤America: USA, Canada, Brazil, Peru, Chile;

    2. Separation of business and financial systems: GES has self-developed business front-end and middle-end. The front-end client is used for customer ordering, payment and order tracking and enquiry; the business middle-end is used for sales and purchase order processing, order execution monitoring, customer credit management, billing for logistics and warehousing services, and monthly reconciliations with customers and suppliers, and there is no connection to the back-end financial systems in the various regions;

    3. No internationalised and group financial system: at that time, the subsidiaries used local financial software for financial bookkeeping, with no group financial control; related transactions and consolidated statements were handled manually, and local tax compliance was handled by tax agents.

  • Solutions

    1.Through the use of NetSuite to unify the financial systems of Globe Express Services subsidiaries around the world, reconstruct the trade chain and automate related transactions between subsidiaries, and realise automated consolidated reporting;

    2.Through the NetSuite system built-in international tax package and Hitpoint self-developed products [China localised tax package] to achieve global tax compliance;

    3.Connecting the business/financial collaboration process between Globe Express Services' middle office and NetSuite's back office, regularly synchronising key financial accounting information such as master data, accounts receivable and payable bills, and inter-company related transaction documents.

  • Customer Benefits

    1. NetSuite solves the globalisation and conglomerate financial control of Globe Express Services as a whole, and realises the automation of the group's financial processing, while adapting to the rapid expansion of business around the world;

    2.Hitpoint's cooperation with Globe Express Services began in 2015, and through the overall process coherence and necessary data penetration between Globe Express Services' business centre and NetSuite, it has achieved the integration of business and finance and automated management of its global business.
