Feature Overview
Order Traceability and Allocation. Oracle NetSuite’s automated location allocation feature determines how to fulfill orders based on your global inventory and business rules. You can optimize to reduce costs, speed up delivery, or balance various factors, dynamically implementing your own fulfillment strategy. This optimized, rule-based capability is the cornerstone of a solution for fulfilling omnichannel orders from any location.
Release Orders for Fulfillment. Take control of your “release orders for fulfillment” process. Once the automated location allocation process determines how to fulfill an order, another automated “release orders for fulfillment” process determines when to issue the order to the fulfillment location and proactively notifies each location of the orders to be fulfilled. Order fulfillment managers gain a comprehensive view of the entire process—which orders have been released, fulfillment status, and any order exceptions.
Exception Management. Let Oracle NetSuite’s advanced order management solution automatically handle most order exceptions, enabling you to scale your business without increasing headcount. When an exception occurs, Oracle NetSuite quickly identifies alternative solutions to fulfill the order. If the order is successfully fulfilled, the order fulfillment manager can view the order exception, the initial fulfillment attempt, and the alternative solution. If fulfillment fails, the system notifies the order fulfillment manager or CSR of the unfulfilled order. Exceptions caused by inventory discrepancies are automatically flagged and queued for resolution.
Store Pickup. Accepting pickup orders is simple, but successfully fulfilling the promise is a major challenge. This feature controls which locations and items are included in the pickup process. Advanced order management solutions enhance sales order capabilities, with standard features supporting in-store pickup and hybrid orders. Upon receiving a pickup order, a fulfillment request is automatically generated and sent to the store, notifying staff to prepare the order. Once the store has picked the order, the system sends an automated notification informing the customer that their order is ready. New in-store pickup fulfillment tasks help store associates efficiently execute pickups through customized workflows.
Shipping from Stores. Transform your stores into warehouses to meet customer demand, improve inventory turnover, and reduce markdowns, thereby recovering sales. Merchants can control which locations and items are included in the shipping process, allowing store operations to strategically select the appropriate store to fulfill orders while managing store inventory and buffer stock to balance e-commerce demand with in-store fulfillment needs. Once Oracle NetSuite’s Advanced Order Management solution determines which store will ship an order, a fulfillment request is automatically sent to the selected store. With integrated merchandise fulfillment and shipping, store associates can receive fulfillment requests and seamlessly pick, pack, and ship orders. The process also includes built-in exception management to reconcile store inventory discrepancies and fluctuations.
Order Management Insights and KPIs. Better manage your business by increasing visibility into fulfillment operations. Use fulfillment request reports to assess the execution of perfect orders and gain deep insights into planned versus actual processes, as well as areas for improvement. You can leverage these new insights to create saved searches and alerts, keeping you informed of updates. By combining these results with sales order and returns data, you can gain insights and intelligence across the entire order management lifecycle—from commitment and allocation, through orchestration and fulfillment, all the way to payment and returns.
